German Trademarks - Applicable Provisions

The requirements for the application of a trademark and other signs in Germany are governed by the following provisions:
  1. the Law on the Protection of Trademarks and Other Signs (German Trademark Act) of October 25, 1994 (Bundesgesetzblatt I, p.3082);

  2. the Law on Patent Office and Patent Court Fees of August 18, 1976 (Bundesgesetzblatt I, p.2188), last amended by Article 20 of the Law on the Reform of the Trademark Law and on the Incorporation of the First Council Directive of December 21, 1988, to approximate the Laws of the Member States Relating to Trademarks (89/104/EEC) (Trademark Reform Law) of October 25, 1994 (Bundesgesetzblatt I, p.3082);

  3. the Trademark Regulations of November 30, 1994 (Bundesgesetzblatt I, p.3555).
